More Arabic Mistakes

I had a rough day in Arabic today. I enjoyed myself thoroughly, but I screwed up both words I was called on to say outloud. Did my writing on the board perfectly though. You win some, you lose some. Fair enough. Looking forward to completing Unit 3 this weekend!

Russian has soft vowels too, but they're easy to spot except for the soft "o" which looks like an "e" with two dots over it. Some people forget to add the dots which complicates things a trifle. Russian also has soft consonants, designated by a "Myakij znak" which resembles a "6" primarily at the end of words. Your letter "alif" is similar to "aleph" in Hebrew' I believe, and alpha in Greek.I think the Greeks and Hebrews learned from the Arabs. What is the Arabic word for alphabet ? Remember the line from "Why Can't the English" ? "Arabians learn Arabian with the speed of summer lightning, and Hebrews learn it backwards which is absolutely fright'ning". Turns out learning Arabic is equally frightening. Uncle Al

Very nice, Al. I haven't had that in my head yet, but I will now...
