I really, REALLY like this song. I've liked it for ages, but I don't know that I've ever told you all how much. It just came up on my Mandy Patinkin Pandora Radio Station (the version from Colm Wilkinson's "Stage Heroes" album). And it's so good. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about:
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
It's pretty. And makes me happy.

Oh good golly. I bet you've never seen "Man of La Mancha." Watch it, dear child. (With lots of kleenex.)
I was Sancho Panza in that show when I was out in MA. Great music & great show. One of the highlights of my life.
I, in fact, haven't seen "Man of La Mancha." I'm too scared...lol.
Who removed the comment? Why?
Your grandmother doesn't know whether to be concerned or pleased that you have time to type up lengthy song lyrics during this week of tests, etc.
Man of La Mancha is indeed one of the all time great musicals! It is well worth the crying!

I accidentally posted on a different Gmail account for one of my groups. It said exactly the same thing as what I wrote under my own name. Oops!
Lyrics were available online, Granna, I just copied and pasted. I am studying plenty, never fear!
"the Impossible Dream" is Flint's favorite song. Actually he has a Don Quixote fixation--he virtually thinks he is Don Quixote.I still tear up every time I hear Richard Kiley's death scene on the record. The only other songs that affect me that way are "In the Baggage Coach Ahead" and "Old Shep".
