Nice Move, McCain

McCain has chosen Alaskan governor Sarah Palin as his running mate...nice move, there, John. A woman. A young woman. From a small state. That's not going to influence swing voters and states at all...(heavy sarcasm)...rats.

My problem is that given McCain's age & the effects of his POW experience, there would be a very good chance that this woman could become President if McCain is elected. Coming from where she does, she is just too isolated from the rest of the country.

Good point...Alaska is WAY out there. But it's pretty :).
Anybody know her policy on oil? The Alaska thing must play a role in it...but I haven't read that much about her.

Look up Sarah Palin's Wikipedia page. Even though Wiki has a bad reputation, you can learn a lot of cultural opinions which are not without merit.

Also look at what she's done and how she's been under investigation for abusing her power and is currently under investigation for firing the brother of her sister's ex.

Maybe McCain didn't make such a powerful play...

Yeah, McCain pretty much sealed his coffin when he chose her. It'd be weird though if he did win and then died and then our president would be this completely conservative Alaskan whose only experience before becoming governor was being a member of a city council. What the Hell was he thinking? Seriously...and she's sooo conservative. I mean, not that I really have anything against conservatives (I do) but isn't McCain one of the more moderate Republicans? Isn't that one of the things he's running on? Oh well, I guess it was his stupid choice. Maybe I was wrong about McCain.

I think that he did it partially to try and win back conservatives...and then he's got a woman on the ticket, so some of the Hillary lovers who are huge feminists might be more inclined to vote for him than Obama. She apparently got the GOP really excited last night with her speech...

I guess I can see how that would win back conservatives...but no Hillary supporter in their right mind (if there is such a thing) would vote for her...I mean she's the kind of crazy conservative that thinks creationism should be taught in schools. Not that he's any better, but I actually think Romney would've won a lot more conservatives...but I guess we'll have to wait and see
