Sex is Apparently Responsible for Terrorism

Or the lack thereof, I should say. I'm exploring religious violence in my research this week. So here's a fun one:
“‘In Palestine, for example, where the unemployment rate among young men in their late teens and early twenties has hovered around 50 percent, economic frustration has led to sexual frustration. Without jobs, which is usually a prerequisite to searching for a wife in traditional societies, they cannot marry. Without marriage, in strict religious cultures such as that of Palestinian Arabs, they cannot have sex.’ Violence endorsed by religious authority, Juergensmeyer argues, provides the sense of empowerment that these marginal young men lack.”
