Happy 150th!

This is my one hundred fiftieth post. And today's been good, but I've had a full morning of classes with nothing amazingly entertaining to report.
Oh, no, wait. Arabic today. We're discussing Arabic names. Given name=first name. The name that follows on official documents is the father's name. Last comes the family name. With family names, people can trace genealogy back a ways. So princes claim to be sons of the prophet. And Milad was quite entertaining as he talks about money and oil and how the kings and princes can claim whatever they want to. And if you protest, it's off to jail and you never come out. The actual issues involved are, of course, not in any way funny. But Milad's perspective was extremely mirth-provoking.
