Discussion on Democracy and Protest

Hosted a Discussion Forum tonight for the ADS/UDS (Scholarship) students of the MSU Honors College tonight. We did one in January on the Costs of Education; tonight, we focused on Democracy and Protest, looking at the recent events in the Middle East, North Africa, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Had a lively but not angry debate about the meaning and importance of democracy, voting, revolution and change. I also made a ton of cookies (the first time I baked during Lent; only slightly miserable) and shared. Made way too many...but luckily, the Quiz Bowl team was meeting downstairs at the time. If there's one thing geeky boys can do, it's eat lots of cookies. Problem solved.
