Question for Discussion

We're watching "Lord of the Rings" whilst working, and something just occurred to me:
LOTR is one of the only series named after the BAD guy! Why do you think this is? Can you think of others?

Are you sure?

I said "one of the only!" Or are you asking whether or not it's named after the bad guy, or if someone else is supposed to be the lord of the rings?

I mean, yeah, it probably is. But you shouldn't take it for granted.

Sorry. But seriously. I feel like it's pretty obvious. And especially in the movies...which is what brought the issue up.

yes, the story is named for Sauron, because he the central character, even if he is never seen in the book

But "Harry Potter" isn't named "Voldemort," even though he's at least as central!

Frankenstein was probably a bad guy although in the book his monster was basically a good guy.You have Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein and there may have been others in the series. Also, I think there was more than one Wolfman movie.Uncle Al

So, question on those - is there a "good guy" that has at least as much attention in the content?

Oh, & for books named for the villian, there's "Dr. No", "Goldfinger", & "Dracula". I'm sure there's lots more.

Dracula & Wolfman are just two samples, a bazillion horror series are named after the bad guy(s): Alien, Predator, Jaws, etc.

In the non-horror-movie camp, I would vote for the following:
Kill Bill
High School Musical (possibly a horror film, but definitely named after the evil character)
