Tomorrow's the big day! GenCen is hosting our first Undergraduate Research Conference. It's going to be a blast! I'm really looking forward to it. We've got some really interesting papers on panels and then some great moderators.
I'm presenting in the afternoon the paper that won the Anderson Paper Competition. I should probably figure out what I'm going to say for fifteen minutes.

That took long enough
I now have Microsoft Office on my MacBook and Vista on my PC. That only took...entirely too long. lol. Now Becca gets to play with Networks and SkyDrives and fun ways to try and work from both computers without being totally confused in regards to document saving.

Girls' Night!
We had quite the shindig last night...Bailey's home from Japan, and staying with us for a few weeks. Lindsey had a friend over, and Kelly was here as well. All but one stayed the night. It was quite exciting.

Dear Michigan
I like snow. I do. I like freezing rain rather a bit less. And to make St. Patrick's Day 65 degrees and then drop back to 19 is just plain mean.

Concert
Had a lovely time in Kalamazoo going to my baby cousin's concert. (Okay...he's a senior in high school. Not such a baby anymore.) This was a small ensemble concert rather than the full youth orchestra, so I got to hear him play and know it was actually he. 'Twas quite delightful.
Also got to have some very yummy homemade tomato bisque from my uncle...that was delightful as well.

Most Productive Saturday EVER
We have had a fabulous day in the Farnum condo.
The following were obtained/achieved/completed:
1. Drove the church van to Howell and got an essentially brand new elliptical for a mere $125.
2. Kelly and Becca successfully hauled the elliptical up the stairs and arranged furniture so that the elliptical runner has a fabulous view of the TV.
3. Kelly and Becca met Kelsey at Penney's, where the three picked out beautiful curtains for the condo.
4. While at Penney's, went clothes shopping and got many useful items. Spent a total of $85.54 on eight items (including a fancy new coat for Kelsey and two pairs of high quality jeans). Saved a total of $293.30. Yeah. Becca's a fan of over 340% savings.
5. Laundry. LOTS of laundry.
6. House cleaning, including a closet, and the trashing of some of Granna's old stuff (Granna, I looked through it carefully to ensure I got everything useful and recycled as much as possible).
7. Replaced the lightbulbs in the kitchen. Though this doesn't seem all that exciting, trust me - it was. SO MUCH BRIGHTER.

It's getting warmer!
The weather around 4 pm has been utterly gorgeous. It's been very fun to bike around. Unfortunately, it's also become a bit of a pain to leave the house at 8 am, when it's still fairly cool, and then bike around when it's almost hot and I no longer want to haul around a hoodie. But such is life.

Midterms Actually Done!
I just completed by last midterm on Economics of Africa. I did not do as well as I should have, but it is done!
Breathing, breathing...
Now let's go start writing final papers...

Well, humph
My religious studies professor for Birth of Christianity isn't desperately in love with my writing...I'm going to 3.5 this class if I'm not very, very careful.
But we shall see. Becca will try to rally!
(We got our midterms back today. Not perfect, but not as good as I thought it was going to be.)

Spring Break!
I have returned safely and happily from Washington, D.C., where I had the pleasure of participating in an alternative spring break with Papa and the Wesley@CMU crew. We did a seminar on social justice and advocacy work with the General Board of Church and Society, met with some representatives' staffers, visited museums, and worked with some homeless communities. It was a great week of learning, service, being served, and fun. And now, back to the daily hum drum that is my wonderful life.

Midterms Done!
Just finished my last midterm. For the week, anyways - I've got one in Economics of Africa the week after break. But I'm essentially done with stress and now get to go spend a rather lovely time in Washington, D.C. with my father and friends learning about social justice.
Huzzah!

Econ Midterm Back
I am happily and solidly in the 4.0 point zone for my Economics of Healthcare class. (I truly wish I could say the same for my Economics of Africa course, but that's going to be a little more tricky.)
